Austin Flamenco Academy is proud to present award-winning flamenco dancer Edwin Aparicio of Washington, D.C. Widely recognized as one of the most sought-after flamenco performers, teachers, and choreographers in the United States, Aparicio has been praised by critics as “the most amazing dancer seen in years” and “a technical powerhouse dancing with blistering conviction,” noted for his “hellfire footwork” and choreographies filled with “beautiful, evocative imagery.” He is also a recipient of the Cross of the Order of Civil Merit, granted by King Felipe VI of Spain.
Joining Aparicio is the passionate Austin-based dancer Drea La Flamenca, accompanied by the soulful cante of Celia Corrales, the virtuosic guitar of José Manuel Tejeda, and the rhythmic palmas of Austin Flamenco Academy director Genevieve Guinn.
