John Pointer’s Performance Lab

a chance to see his work from two angles in one day.

FREE WORKSHOP 3:30–5:00pm.

Funded by a Nexus Grant from the City of Austin, it is designed for musicians, curious listeners, students, and creative people of any kind. Participants can try novel techniques, escape stubborn patterns, and rethink what’s possible with or without an instrument.

Q&A throughout will steer the session toward the most interesting subjects for attendees.

RSVP required.

TICKETED CONCERT 8:00–9:30pm.

On stage, John puts it all together. The result is a playful, surprising, and at times deeply physical performance. Audience reactions have ranged from “the sound of boundaries disappearing” to “some kind of musical prism.”

Come to either or both. Saturday, April 4, 2026 Workshop Doors 3:15pm 3:30–5:00pm. (Free, rsvp)
