ATX Music Series: Chirag Katti & Gourisankar Karmakar, Sitar and Tabla
March 19 at 8pm
ATX Music Series is thrilled to present Chirag Katti, a Mumbai-based sitarist among the next generation of eminent Indian classical music artists, alongside a hometown treasure: the Austin-based internationally recognized tabla maestro Pt. Gourisankar Karmakar. Marking their first time playing together, they invite you to sample the storied North Indian classical music tradition through a baithak-style experience that is uniquely possible in the intimacy of The Rosette Theater.
Touring extensively throughout India and the US, Chirag is a supreme concert artist who has led fusion projects blending musical genres, recorded sitar for film scores, and performed with orchestras. After a successful 8-state sitar duet tour in the fall, he is returning to the US this spring for his first-ever Texas appearance right here at The Rosette!

He has toured for over 30 years with a playing style that combines the Farukhabad, Punjab and Delhi schools of tabla artistry. Hear his mind-blowing talent here.
