When The Adventures of Prince Achmed premiered in 1926, it was hailed as a technical marvel. A century later, it remains one of the great classics of animation.
Adapted from The Arabian Nights, this gorgeous silent film tells the story of a prince who flies off on a magic horse to tussle with an evil sorcerer, rescue a princess, and join forces with Aladdin.
To celebrate the centennial of this animated classic, we’ve commissioned a new score from Turkish guitarist and oud player Celil Refik Kaya, with Amanda Kaya on guitar and viola.
